Since its inception in 2010, Ontario Virtual School (OVS) has successfully grown to accommodate over 10,000 students worldwide. They are accredited and regularly reviewed by the Ontario Ministry of Education and provide the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) to students in Canada and abroad. The school boasts a diverse catalog of over 130 courses, delivered by a team of more than 100 OCT-certified teachers. They take pride in educating a wide-ranging student population from over 100 nations.
The school's ethos centers around leveraging technology to maximize each student's learning potential, guiding them towards academic success. A key feature of their educational approach is the flexibility it offers – students are free to begin their courses at any point in the year and have the option to complete them in a period ranging from 4 weeks to 12 months. This adaptive learning structure is designed to accommodate individual student schedules and learning paces. OVS also streamlines the process of transferring credits to and from other Canadian educational institutions that follow the OSSD system.
OVS is particularly dedicated to supporting students who face difficulties in attending conventional classes, whether due to health constraints, athletic endeavors, or employment commitments. The school also provides a valuable opportunity for students aiming to improve their performance in challenging subjects, thereby enhancing their understanding and increasing their chances of acceptance into competitive higher education programs.
